CatfishBnb

Why we exist

Your holiday shouldn’t start with a nasty surprise.

It’s your money. It’s your time. You should know what you’re booking.

Booking from the other side of the world means putting a lot of trust in photos and a description. You can’t walk through the door first. When you’ve finally found somewhere for your dates and budget, it’s easy to hope the listing tells the whole story.

Or you spend your first evening cleaning. Looking for sheets that should already be there. Trying to reach someone about a room that looks nothing like the photos.

These details matter when you’re the person paying for the stay.

The next guest should be able to know.

A complaint in a private message may help you get an answer. The next person considering that property still needs a way to see what happened.

That’s why CatfishBnb exists. We bring guest accounts, reviewed photos and host responses together, so you can compare what was promised with what people experienced. Airbnb stays, hotels and private vacation rentals all belong here.

Share what matched, what didn’t and what happened when you asked for help. Details like the distance to parking, missing bedding or cleaning on arrival can help someone else decide whether a stay is right for them.

Accountability means showing what happened next.

Some hosts manage a property themselves. Others rely on a management company. Whoever handles the stay, an overlooked problem still lands on the guest.

A clear report gives the host a chance to respond, address the problems and show what changed. Repair photos and an agreed refund or other remedy can be recorded alongside the guest’s account.

The guest must confirm the agreed outcomes, and a reviewer must check the evidence before a report is marked resolved. The original report stays. Future guests can see the problem and the resolution together.

How repairs and refunds are reviewed

A fair hearing for both sides.

A complaint deserves a closer look. It isn’t proof that every claim is correct. Reports are reviewed before publication, and hosts can respond or dispute an account. Positive stays and documented improvements deserve to be seen too.

CatfishBnb is independent and isn’t affiliated with Airbnb. We don’t decide legal liability, inspect properties or guarantee refunds. We provide a place to share evidence and record an agreed resolution, alongside any support you seek from your booking provider.

We’re building this record with guests and hosts. If there are no reports for a property, we don’t have information yet. It doesn’t mean the place has been checked.

Help the next guest arrive better informed.

Your experience can give someone else a clearer picture before they spend their money and their holiday time.
